These workers are letting the Minister know they have conducted a ballot for industrial action and will not accept the shambolic consultation process as fair or reasonable. These workers have been robbed of their Christmas and need the Minister's support.

Young workers and apprentices pay the same rent and the same bills and taxes as everyone else. It is time to correct this wrong. #CWU #SubminimumWage #YoungWorkers

Irish Congress of Trade Unions backs call for ban on sub-minimum wage pay rates for workers under 20, apprentices and interns
The Government has been urged to back a bill to abolish pay rates for young workers that are below the €13.50 an hour minimum wage.

Currently, workers under the age of 21 have a lower minimum wage than the rest of the working population. This is grossly unfair and out of line with how the majority of EU member states treat younger workers.

We need your support! Send the postcard in Connect magazine to An Taoiseach to demand the Department approve pension payments without delay. Please send your post card next week.

CWU Demands that Our Pensioners Deserve Better than this, and they deserve it now.

For eir pensioners, the agreed 2.1% increase (effective 1 July 2025) was submitted on 8 August 2025. Months later, the Department still can’t give a timeline. Hardship continues.

For the workers caught in the crossfire, it’s hard to keep the Christmas spirit alive when their livelihoods are on the line.

This year’s theme, “Fostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress,” encourages us to reflect on how each of us can help create a more inclusive and supportive workplace and community.

From online harassment and stalking to doxxing, deepfakes and digital surveillance, no worker should face violence in online spaces.

Digital spaces must be safe for everyone.

While the indicative ballot is still being counted, it’s already clear: Covalen workers are ready to take action for collective bargaining, fair conditions, and a real say in their work.

This is what power looks like: unity, democracy and action. Together, we’re building something historic. ✊
