Meanwhile, the name change still seems to have caught SLC leaders by surprise. Council Chair Chris Wharton called it "odd," but he's choosing to view it in the way it's being pitched.

The cost estimate for everything is $11 million, per city planners. You may remember that at least $5 million was to go toward Japantown improvements from a "public benefits" account created in the SEG/SLC agreement last year

I also love that we get a Turnstile/Snail Mail reunion. Saw them tour together with JPEGMAFIA at the Complex a few years ago in what still remains one of the most unexpected but awesome touring trios to date

I have to say I was surprised to find that this appears to be Lorde's first performance in Utah, but lots of recent Grammy nominees, rising stars and SLC/Ogden TCS alumni in the field for 2026:

Last I heard, they still had to wait to replace them until they knew the soil wasn't contaminated, but that was a bit ago
