Seeing people turn on Expedition 33 after it won so many awards at "THE awards show" is both expected and still disappointing that people feel the need to attack art as a need to "justify" their liking of another piece of art.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

While I found the overall mystery and cast less enthralling than the past two entries, the chemistry between Daniel Craig and Josh O'Conner and their ideologies kept me glued to the screen whenever they shared the screen alongside the fantastic cinematography.

Silent Hill 3

As someone who is not in love with Silent Hill 1&2, I can say I was blown away by the 3rd entry. Heather is an excellent main character as we follow her character arc throughout the game. Whilst I have some issues with the game design, it did not take away my enjoyment of the game.

Red Dead Redemption (Replay)

Being able to re experience this on PS5, with the added context of the story before it in RDR2 makes this even more enjoyable. A fantastic sandbox of a western world that is in constant battle with evolution of the world it is in. Still one of my favorites to this day.

Skate Story

I really enjoyed this! The visuals, when combined with the gameplay provide a fun throwback to the fun skate themed games of the past, but where the game truly shines is its soundtrack and audio design, with the songs being superb and the board providing a solid weight to audio.

Having not played Red Dead Redemption 1 in around a decade, the wave of nostalgia that hit me upon playing the PS5 version almost brings a tear to my eye 🥲

Way of the Samurai

A game series I learnt of only the middle of this week but this is such a fantastic game. A very fun sandbox game, with awesome combat and story, where it is very easy to feel like a wandering Ronin, who gets wrapped up in the turmoil of a town, and those who seek to rule.

Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus

A game that is filled with that early 200's PS2 charm with some great voice acting, art direction, and whilst the gameplay is not too amazing, it uses its limitations as a way to keep the player engaged with the world. Very fun time!

Another Crab's Treasure

Played through this with my nephew and it was his desire to see the ending that made me see it through to the end. Other than that I think it is a pretty mid par game that uses its art direction (a creative one at that I will admit) to make up for its shortcomings.

Sword of the Sea

A visual and audio delight with stunning art direction, alongside a mesmerising soundtrack blending together perfectly. It is let down by some repetition in its game design which due to the short length can become tiresome.

Ninja Assassin (Rewatch)

A movie that knows exactly what it is aiming to be in the best way possible. Fantastic action, cool world building, and ultra violent in a way that turns the ninja from a trope, into something to be feared in an almost supernatural way.

Yuri On Ice (Rewatch)

My opinions on this anime have not changed, it is just a fantastic watch! This show has become a yearly winter cozy rewatch for me and I intend to keep doing so for the years to come. It is special because it can make the bad days easier.

Last Samurai Standing

I think anyone who simply thinks this is "Samurai Squid Game" is missing out on one of the most action packed series in the past few years. Fantastic action choreography, alongside some solid characters with the background rise of Meiji Government make for a fun watch!

Going to be taking a break from the God of War series playthrough. Before I take to a trip to the Norse Saga I will be making a small detour to a little place called "Silent Hill" Have heard it is cozy.

First Playthrough of Silent Hill 3 Begins on Tuesday!

Frankenstein

Guillermo Del Toro has crafted something that is as haunting as it is beautiful. Not only is it a visual gothic pleasure but the performances by the cast, most notably Oscar Issac and Jacob Elordi provide a fantastic emotional core to the movie. I already can't wait for my rewatch.

Cyberpunk 2077 + Phantom Liberty (Replay)

Each time I replay this game I come away with a new way to appreciate it. This time taking a stealthy approach with net runner hacking showcased the incredible world design and ways to approach combat situations.

Godzilla (1954, Rewatch)

This easily remains one of most important movies of all time for me. A movie that shaped modern cinema with its artistic merit of showcasing the effects of real world disasters that transcends the genre it helped usher in. I think everyone should see this movie once.

The Conjuring: Last Rites

It is a big shame that the series that really did a lot for modern horror with its first two movies now feels so boring and derivative. So much of this movie is just poor and is saved by the performance of the two main performers and their chemistry.

Pan's Labyrinth (rewatch)

Just a stunning piece of art that conveys so much emotion alongside fantastic atmosphere and style of a fantasy world being juxtaposed by the horrific brutality of war taking place in the real world. Not the first time I rewatched it and it will not be the last.

Hellboy 1 & 2

I loved these movies growing up and rewatching them just confirmed how much I still do. A perfect blend of practical effects and cgi, alongside the beautiful cinematography that comes with a Guillermo del Toro movie just makes the time fly by.

Absolum

Incredible artstyle, fun gameplay, and an awesome soundtrack make this a really fun beat em up to play but unfortunately the long run time (30mins+) in a roguelike makes it hard to want to see the story through to the end after completing a few runs.
