Curious to see how Bourke's staunch advocacy and fundraising for Ukraine fits with ABC in a post-Lattouf world. Hard to see someone with that level of advocacy for, say, Gaza, be considered for such a high-profile role.

Except most abuse comes from people known to children like family & relatives, teachers, clergy, sporting or youth groups.

My concern is the effect on kids who don’t have present or engaged parents to talk to. I fear the isolation kids in regional & rural areas, disabled, immuno compromised (eg kids who have parasocial peer mates during cancer treatment) & neurodivergent kids plus LGBTQIA++ young adults will experience

Rather than educating kids on content, consent and how to access and assess information, they’ve “banned” it.

One thing that is abundantly clear from this balls up of a policy, is that politicians know shit all about people under 18 - who will vote them out.
Voting should be lowered to 16. If you’re trusted to use snapchat & pay tax - you can vote. Politicians will fight this because it’s their end.
