Going to guess that at some point one of the TKO bookmakers will go "WHY ARE WE PAYING THIS GUY?!" and you will get to see that.

That wasn't going to be the case for Santos. His contract expired, he was free and clear and intended to leave. For reasons he and no one else knows, WWE offered him a new creative direction and a crazy amount of money. And I mean crazy to the point he'd have been dumb not to take it.

It did thankfully, but that wasn't the only reason he signed. Very clear he got bamboozled to some degree.

WILL YOU STOP?!

That doesn't make me think great things about Mookie either.

Yeah, unless Puka had no idea who Adin Ross was (and if he had no idea, why was he on the show to begin with?) this rings hollow to me.

And to be clear, I thought the segment was too long and MJF was hit or miss with it. But come on. The goodwill isn't erased, and MJF is absolutely a guy I want around in AEW. You saw glimpses of it in that segment. When he plays it straight, he's as good as anyone.

Just for more context; Alvarez was like "why wasn't MJF involved in the battle royal for the ring? He always wins the ring." And Dave was like "Sure, but they hadn't advertised him for it this year, he was in a segment earlier in the show doing something else...what's your problem?"
