The mental gymnastics of the “I just use it to-“ thought process are unfathomable to me. It’s an insult to life and if you’re reading this and only just coming across the information that AI is bad, please stop using it. Just because you may not see the harm doesn’t make it go away.

It’s a green light to every company militarizing advancements in AI to commit atrocities and deport opposition to the continual rise of fascism in our country. The ease with which so many in our community buy into the pseudo-intellectual justification of “AI is just a tool” is terrifying.

It’s a spit in the face to every person affected by the environmental racism of AI data centers, and the world’s ecosystem as a whole which is being destroyed at an incalculably faster pace as a direct result of AI.

I can only spend so much time trying to educate people on why Gen AI is so detrimental before I block and move on. Using Gen AI as a queer is an immeasurable disrespect to the entire community of artists that built us up.
