Sure, and I do blue book exams in my lecture courses. But bluebooks are never going to be able to replicate the kind of thought that goes into crafting an essay. Writing and rewriting are crucial to thinking and a timed blue book only gets us halfway there.

I know it's been going on for awhile, but I am just gutted today. I am grading really smart students who don't need to sell-out to AI but they did anyway. It's just depressing (and the essays are sooooo boring as a result).
