We finally figured out it was a permanent, unfixable malfunction (they are way past their expiration date), so now we're off to buy a whole new set of smoke alarms for the house.

Unfortunately, when one malfunctions, it sets the entire system to screaming, so you get to run around the house dripping wet with shampoo still in your hair trying to figure out which little fucker started this travesty, give up, and rip the batteries out of all of them.

I was in TN for my first library job, otherwise I probably wouldn't have those either. Many of these were checked off because I went there for conferences (library or romance writer related).

No one's wrong here...and yet no one wins. Hm...
