Whole lotta snuggling going on! I can tell it's cold b/c the kitties are all cuddling w/ each other and w/ us. Slept in today, recorded a @hauntedmitten.bsky.social ep, went shopping, now roasting a turkey for dinner. The air is brisk. #wintering

Yesterday I didn't get much sleep, so I spent a few hours at my computer playing Breath of Fire on one screen with a video of a cracking fire beside a lake playing on the other. I also lit a candle that smelled like peppermint mocha. I like how our sumac looks in the snow. Sorry, no pic. #wintering

Day 2: Woke up to a malfunctioning furnace. Happens every year when the temps drop. Greg came home on lunch to fix it. Hope it holds! Snow was very pretty. Cleaned pumpkin off LED candles. Planning to make paperbag covers for them to turn them into lantern luminaries for the front window. #wintering

"A Night in the Lonesome October" by Roger Zelazny has been a delightful read (or listen in this case). Our POV character is a dog named Snuff, and the plot incorporates classic horror characters from literature and film. If I had to name a genre, I'd tentatively call it urban fantasy.

Man, how many cool books am I going to read that have @dianapho.bsky.social in the acknowledgments? The world may never know. 😊 Seriously, that was a fun surprise. I love seeing people I know in books. Also if anyone asks why I didn't have children, I'm gonna point to this book. It's visceral. 😱

HELLO, BEAUTIFUL. First eggplant from the garden. She's got some lines on her, but I'm sure she's still tasty.
