Cyber security, electronics, and Linux guy.

Starting fresh with good vibes.
During this US government shutdown, there are a number of US agencies that are blatantly defying the Hatch Act by employing partisan propaganda on their respective websites.

I built a project that identifies these sites and logs them.

A third Blippi (Ben Mayer) had been added to the Blippi-verse late last year.

The Legion of Blippi cannot be stopped.

A lot of people are talking about federally ran government websites with anti-democrat propaganda blurbs, violating the Hatch Act. I've scraped 1,336 sites and came back with 23 that have this verbiage, along with a notable site that has a notice of anti-DEI court orders.

I was in third place in the @johnhammond.bsky.social lookalike contest. I'll have to grow my hair out a bit more for next time.

I'm bringing back an old project... It'll take animated GIFs, ASCIIfy them, and I can control the speed in real-time. After I get this polished up, I'm going to figure out how to turn the animations into a telnet server (again).

Also, maybe music sync?

It's pretty cool to see how people are fixing the badges this year. A lot of people are complaining, but I think a badge that breaks could be more of a feature than a bug, forcing people to solve a problem and participate.

Apparently ffmpeg asks you if you want to overwrite /dev/null.

Yes, I realize I'm doing something really weird with it.

This is a real post from our local overpriced, dirty, "Italian" restaurant that somehow manages to stay open.

2010. These mini PCs were what we called "transfer servers". We shipped these RAIDed devices to customers in Pelican cases so that they could dump data on to them and send them back to be loaded into servers. This was actually quicker than transferring data over the internet.

2009, a couple years after moving out of my parent's house. I was stealing internet from a nearby apartment complex (wide open, no password). I was nice, though, and updated the firmware on the random person's router on a regular basis.

Those are the iconic red Netflix sleeves in front of the TV.
