Anyway I have finally been able to finish the thought that started towards the end of baby's second nap. There are people who had far worse experiences than me (I made choices others didn't have the option to make!) and more recently and have said stuff better. But HOW is this news?!!

Senior colleague then recounts the one-year lectureship they "had to take" in a different commutable city before landing a permanent job in the dept where they did their PhD. Yep, dues paid.

In all seriousness I would like to know why Goethe's face is missing from its usual spot in the Tiled Hall Cafe at Leeds Art Gallery. Is he out for restoration? Had he always been missing and I simply never noticed? Did the Heidelbergians get to him?!!

I tried to simply *open* a word document from my work email on my personal laptop (cos mat leave) and had to do 2FA and reject several requests for the uni to "manage my device", lol no thanks
