It says Bytedance generated 30B profit. They have other products but they’re mostly just tiktok. TikTok also has virtually no expenses besides hosting, they pay even enormous influencers peanuts. Social media is /extremely/ profitable.

I think this one is inaccurate Ed. ByteDance is opaque but seems like TikTok was printing money for them. They generated $33B in profit in 2024.

I don't think that matches reality. Almost a year ago Jerome Powell testified before congress about how attacks on DEI and bureaucratic independence would be devastating. He's consistently had more of a spine than I think anyone else near power this administration.
