A truly gorgeous story of becoming one's true self, Stein brings readers along on her journey of self-discovery and expression.

So grateful to #AbbyChavaStein for sharing her story.

That's a wrap for April's #MCBC pick, #WacoRising.

This was a pretty quick read for me, as the writing flowed well and the story was engrossing.

Must say I did read the part about "Pastor Pace" with squinty eyes though. Yikes.

I mean, truly who better to learn from when trying to survive and fight Facism than cats?

Thank you, @brittlestar.com for this treasure 🐈

Just wrapped up this month's #MorbidlyCuriousBookClub pick, #GoryDetails.

A delightful dive into the "dark side of science", this is worth a read if you're interested in the oddities, morbid curiosities, and lesser known and discussed phenomena of our universe.

My main focus is nonfiction, but the occasional fiction pick may be thrown in - mainly picks from book clubs.

Let's help each other find our next great read!

This is one of those books that altered my brain chemistry.

Diving into the decades leading up to the Challenger disaster then covering its aftermath in clear yet respectful detail, Higginbotham gives an amazingly detailed account of a quite complex topic.

True to style, Higginbotham writing style is accessible and informative, drawing on extensive research.

Midnight in Chernobyl was one of those brain chemistry-altering reads for me, so Challenger was a natural choice.

As someone who has been fascinated by this story as it’s broken and progressed, reading the story of someone who lived it was refreshing and felt like a glimpse that could provide the only true understanding of what actually happened.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ - 4 stars

As a massive fan of the movie (it was filmed about 20 minutes from my hometown) I was excited to read this (30 years later, but who’s counting?...)

This was a quick and well-written read. Kaysen set the scene perfectly, giving solid background and explanation throughout.

#January2025ReadingRoundup

Never in a million years did I think I'd finish six digital/print books and three audiobooks in one month. I enjoy reading, but have always struggled to finish books and find reads that really grab me. So to be nearly halfway through my yearly goal in one month is crazy.
