Just to play devil's advocate for min: it's a lot more important on Bluesky than Twitter beyond accessibility. On Bluesky, you're responsible for your own discoverability and moderation. Alt text is searchable; so, posts can be found with it or blocked for things you don't want to see.

Hey, just want to add that beyond the accessibility issues people mention, alt text is also a way of both helping people find your posts without adding to word count and being a good internet neighbor so that people who don't want to see something don't.

Don't forget the built-in heating. Can't imagine having to sleep out in the cold.
