you don't actually need an in-depth analysis of the power levels of lions vs pokemon; ultimately the question can be simplified down to "can a single lion deal supereffective damage to a shedinja"

and the twewy cast is here which is cool but they are very much lifted directly from their home game, compared to the final fantasy guys whose backstories were adapted into the kh universe a bit more coherently. I'm fine with it though because shikiiiiii :3 wah. i love you transgender woman 🩷

i wasn't crazy about the drop mechanic in the original but i do think i prefer it to bbs and chain of memories making you play through a whole campaign as one character before starting another. sora and riku's stories are intertwined and they can share items with each other, i think that's neat

gameplay feels very similar to birth by sleep, which i now have played in full so i understand what they were going for. still feels just a tad underbaked compared to bbs, especially with how character growth is tied to your spirits, but I'm only like an hour in, I'll give it more time to cook

i am surprisingly invested in the dream eater thing, i know it is very much derivative of pokemon but i kinda love my lil guys 🥰 giving them nicknames like Nubert and Wilkerson helped me grow more attached. i do think playing with and feeding them is a bit annoying but they're just so cuteeeee waugh

honestly i am looking forward to kh1, moreso now than i was before. idk i feel like i just *get* it now yknow? it was never my favorite of the games but i wanna go back to it with a fresh pair of eyes

i am at that point in bbs but it's honestly kinda annoying hunting down the stickers and treasures i missed. i guess i got a bit too carried away with the command meld system cause i keep having to stop and look up a guide for which commands i want to level up and all that. that's on me tho

been leveling up my drive forms every chance i get, i want those growth abilities so i can grab all the puzzle pieces that are currently out of my reach
eventually i want to get to the point where i can go around every world farming item drops like i did as a kid. that was the good shit

I'm just glad they've preserved these games so well, the whole "secret boss you can only fight on the japanese-exclusive rerelease" was the stuff of playground legends. like unlocking luigi in mario 64. now anyone with a decent computer and a steam account can just buy and play final mix :) awesome

i plan on starting a standard mode playthrough even though it will severely lower my odds of being able to get that gold crown. i did beat sephiroth on the ps2 version but only on beginner after using the pride rock exploit to grind to level 99. at least it won't be as painful as com i don't think
