drawing shoelaces is actually so fucking easy when you learn you can just select the area, shrink the selection and delete the inside
a lineart of shoelaces. "shrink selected area" box for a shoelace, showcasing that by shrinking the inside of the lineart and deleting it, you get a cleaner way to draw it.

An OC description. Name: Aurora Soleil. Gender: Female. Height: 180cm. Age: Old. Species: Human? Set within an alleyway of Heacleón's old town district “Veld”, there is a place people usually go to when they need to deal with shady businesses, types of jobs that just don't go well with the law, but neither with mafia or downright criminals... But also for another specific type of work. Dubbed the "Soleil Specialized Services", often shortened to "SSS", in this small office, people find the capital city's infamous Demon Hunter, Aurora Soleil. She's an extremely laidback individual who loves doing it for the money, but is also considerate of people who find themselves in all kinds of trouble bad enough to look for someone like her. Pragmatic to a point and always up for a battle, the woman has a code of her own that she never strays away from: Rule number one: “No job is worth doing for less than ℟100 an hour, but if it’s for Veld residents, we can talk.” The office charges a flat rate of one hundred ℟—one hundred rels—per hour, with almost no exceptions. Locals in Old Town, though? They get a break. Call it kindness or loyalty—Aurora has a soft spot for this place and the people there. Rule number two: “If it involves demons, it’s personal. Double the fee.” Demon extermination isn’t just work—it’s the most dangerous job out there. Every move risks your life, and she's got her own reasons for hating them. Rule number three: “Sweets are life—but limit one indulgence per job unless it’s a long one.” She has a sweet tooth, but she's gotta have control over it, or else it will have control over her. Rule number four: “Work ends when you’re too tired to swing a sword. Rest as hard as you fight.” Everyone has their limits. Pushing yourself past your limitations doesn’t always lead to success, and proper recovery is essential for peak performance. Rule number five: “Bathhouse visits are mandatory for a clear head. Extra points for sauna dips.” Beyond cleansing, bathhouses, especially saunas, uplift the spirit, taking a dip every day is a must. Or so she would say. Rule number six: “No matter the mess, always leave the place cleaner than you found it.” There are two ways you can see this: the literal sense, after a battle, taking the time to restore the environment or avoid collateral damage, or a metaphorical sense, as in resolving conflicts completely, not leaving loose ends. She usually aims for both, but destruction is inevitable when the topic is dealing with demons. Those rules, however, are only applied to her office. Her work. She recognizes that demon hunters across the land operate differently. More importantly, the name "demon hunter" is a common title thrown around by those unaware of the real name, and the gruesome reality underneath this business. The term for demons is just a common way to bundle those inhuman creatures together. Thurisaz, is how they are called. Creatures born from humanity's sins, hunted down by Ansuz Templars, knights of a secret organization whose job is to keep order in the world. They are not religious by nature, but religious churches may actively use and aid the Ansuz. Aurora is part of this organization herself. Each city has one or two templars to protect it, and the white-haired woman is one of the appointed knights to protect Heacleón, the capital city of Cobirecia. She is infamous for her way of work usually deviating from other knights, being completely uncaring about the modus operandi of the organization itself and those who ally themselves with it, claiming that they are all selfish humans with ulterior motives, and, while the superiors of the Ansuz Association surely are mysterious in various ways, it is undeniable that there might be those kinds working for it and with it. She may even break the Association's rules at times if it benefits herself or if it's for others' well-being. Alongside her trusty longsword Ragnarok, a sword with a dragon's head for guard, her companion Nyrvein, who is a talking belt buckle of a dragon's face, she alone goes out on deadly missions to protect others. Relationships Chyerub Irist - Aurora's assistant whom she met by chance one day. They are an uncommon kind of Mannaz, in other words: human, a Gyfu, in other words: someone possessing a "Gift". Gyfu are people who can wield superpowers capable of dealing with Thurisaz, only a select few in the world are born with such powers that can be anything. Chyerub is a bright, cheerful, optimistic blonde bean who always does everything in their power to be useful to others. They may appear tomboyish as well. They are like sunshine to Aurora, a young adult who doesn't know anything about life, being taught about life by the older, wise Ansuz Templar. Although Aurora is a bit apprehensive about Chyerub being a Gyfu, meaning they have the potential to become a templar, she is supportive of the younger one's ambitions and desire to become stronger so that they can protect others as well. Artemis Notte - Heacleón's second Ansuz Templar. A cold, distant black-haired woman who is often seen as a rival to Aurora by the people around both of them, and even among other Ansuz Templars. They definitely do not get along well, especially with how Aurora does not follow word-for-word the methods and rules of the Association. Strict and deadly, she is a woman of few words compared to the other knight's boastful personality. Duel-wielding twin katanas, a rather 'impractical' style, as Aurora and Chosuke usually comment. Chosuke Isana - A fellow Ansuz Templar. Chosuke is from a neighboring city, but he usually helps Aurora by sending useful information on Thurisaz in the region that may end up at Heacleón. He visits Heacleón every once in a while to help with work or just vacation. He's a mysterious guy, as Aurora likes to point out. Always keeping everything to himself, never talking too much about him. She wishes she'd learn more about this fellow knight, as he could be like her, but he's too guarded. Heather Astet - Chosuke's assistant. Much like Aurora, he also took in a young Gyfu to train. Something about passing down a style. She's a very stubborn, rockheaded girl. She's not particularly interested in the knight business, moreso in the "Priest" side of things. Ansuz Priests are usually magicians who don't wield physical weapons like the knights, and they focus more on aiding the knights with cover fire and on the sidelines. Thomas Melchior - The blind priest who runs the old church building in Old Town. He's usually all by himself, and dresses totally unlike a priest, usually wearing a dark blue suit. He's another mysterious person, "Why are the men here so cryptic", Aurora comments. But Thomas is a very carefree priest himself, a lover of coffee, and always sticking his nose in other people's businesses. Apparently also a Gyfu, but behaves very differently from those that make Aurora very interested and curious in his methods. The Human Sage - ??? Eccodarak - Aurora's arch-nemesis.
