Oh I could go on for hours about robotics. There's so much misinfo going around about humanoids and while some youtube promo videos might look impressive, they're demonstrating research and technology that was new research like 5-10 years ago.

There's still a plethora of research gaps to solve.

yeah! There's a lot of cool technologies that hackers and hobbyists are playing around with. I've lately been getting back into 3d printing and modeling which has been a fun way to keep my mind off things.

There were so many imaginative ideas then about what these new tech capabilities could enable for people. I think some of that imagination exists today but it's heavily drowned out by marketing slop and conditioning from social platforms to only think in a centralized manner.
