A recent policy change by Trump Admin rolled back a Biden-era rule that allowed DACA recipients to access coverage through state-based marketplaces—advocacy for which CRLAF played an instrumental role. Covered California is being forced to disenroll about 2,400 DACA recipients.

Noe Paramo, CRLAF Director of Sustainable Rural Communities Project, spoke at the Equity on the Mall event at the Capitol earlier this month. He helped organize this event as a convener of the Immigration and Health Subcommittees the last few years with The Center at Sierra Health Foundation.

Another great OCPSC Region 2 meeting! Alongside OCPSC & several nonprofit orgs, CRLAF strives to continue working together to uphold strong vibrant communities. We also shared challenges and potential strategies for bringing the CalKids program to those who need it.

CRLAF staff had a wonderful time at OCPSC's “From Connection to Action: Trusted Messenger Convening” two day Conference last week! We were inspired to see so many groups coming together from across the state working to bring vital resources & services to California residents.

Last week we attended: a farmworker resource fair where our team presented Know Your Rights info & eligibility for supportive services/resources, & the Equity on the Mall event which our Sustainable Rural Communities Project Director helped organize with The Center at Sierra Health Foundation.

The Williamson Act (1965) was established to preserve CA farmlands. Initially offering property tax reductions to agriculture landowners & small-scale farmers, it now increasingly benefits large-scale investors & wealthy corporations.
