I started to suspect that both my Apple TV and Homepod Mini were being naughty children making DNS queries to servers other than my local one.
A screenshot of firewall logs from my home network this evening, showing two devices - either themselves, or apps on them - having attempted unauthorised communication with a DNS server other than the one they're supposed to be connecting to. The screenshot shows the source device name, source port for the communication, destination name/IP, destination port, server associated with the traffic, direction of traffic conveyed by an arrow, the policy type that captured the traffic, the action taken by that policy, and the date/time the action was taken at. Needless to say, the phat Block list I just added to the network that prevents anything other than my own DNS server (AdGuard Home) communicating with these servers has now put a big stop to that. So no traffic to unauthorised DNS servers, and also no traffic to anything that my DNS blocklists say is verboten either.

Finally figured out how to make use of the Australian Bureau of Metrology integration within #HomeAssistant , to properly display a list of warnings, their available information, and to make the warnings clickable to access the full text.

Looking forward to trying out Ikea’s new home air sensors (now released in Australia), with CO2 measurements and Matter support.

Really not trusting the data from my Sensibo Elements when the numbers drop off a cliff like this when there wasn’t even a door or window opened.

For just over 1 km journey, which I normally do with heavy groceries after shopping that I can’t walk home with – Uber wants to charge nearly 4 times the normal price.

The local cab operator wants to charge their usual rate, which is double what Uber would normally charge.

An A6 letterbox paper flyer, found in my letterbox today, from an almost non-existent group, whose sole purpose seems to be to gain signatures for a federal parliamentary petition that closed 3 days ago and got less than 2,000 signatures. The flyer, full of nonsense, shows the people behind it and those dropping it on letterboxes with no junk mail signs have zero understanding of the *voluntary* digital identity system being made available, what it’s limited to, how it can be used, and so on. Basically, it’s a bunch of people spouting crap long after the horse has bolted. And you know they’re clueless, because this group has popped up all over the RWNJ-sphere, Including the One Nation pages on Boomerbook.
