Netflix's new interface sucks:

- I'm not a fan of the "expanded card" selection

- I have to navigate all the way back to the top of the screen to access the menu bar

#GameUIFridays 4/18/25 - The Nintendo Music app has added into its UI some features previously only found with Nintendo music posted on YouTube by fans. One example is the option to extend the duration of some music to 15, 30, or 60 minutes. It's definitely a nice quality of life addition. 🎮U👁️

#GameUIFridays 3/28/25 - The Nintendo DS had a few user interface features that allowed for hundreds of creative play experiences. The console had two screens (the bottom one being touch), a built-in stylus, and a microphone. Fun fact, the "DS" stands for "Dual Screen" or "Developer's System". 🎮U👁️

I’m proud to say this month marks 10 years in the game industry for me!

I’ve worked as a UI/UX Designer on mobile and augmented reality games at #Disney and I’m currently at #JamCity

#GameUIFridays 1/24/25 - Prey has a twist on the classic "Weapon Wheel". They use a "Weapon Spiral"! It allows for more inventory slots beyond a normal wheel layout and the spiral moves in Z-space as players select items. Is this UI a superior upgrade?

#GameUIFridays 1/17/25 - In 2024 there was a big online debate over games using yellow paint or other diegetic UI to point out interactive objects within levels. Some say it breaks immersion. Others say players would get stuck without it. Is it better to be overly clear or not?

#GameUIFridays 1/3/25 - I love "Playable UI" (for lack of a better term). For example, in Super Mario Sunshine, players select their save file by controlling Mario and jumping to hit blocks. They also run to the right to reveal the options menu. Are you a fan of "Playable UI"?

#GameWisdomWednesdays 1/22/25 - Doom, the legendary FPS that birthed an entire genre and inspired millions, was not John Romero's first game. According to the man himself it was his 90th! This illustrates that greatness takes practice. So make lots of small games first.

game devs, post your first shipped game and your latest shipped game.

I worked on an indie Breakout-style mobile game in 2014. My latest game is Disney Emoji Blitz, released in 2016. Still in liveops today!

Right now, I’m on some unannounced projects.
