Deep ecology + consumption culture + inner happiness as the core of the polycrisis.

Maybe some animal intelligence and contemplative science.

Okay, seens as so many people liked this i did the minimal amount of digging on the bus

Coz they are all share one ultimate goal

They appeal to different voter culture

But they all ultimately pursue the neoliberal agenda;

consume everything for elite profit, people and planet, just like in america

Follow the money to the atlas network

Now the voters who want a planet will have two choices. This brings me so much hope.

This time, your thinktank economics, murdock media lies, culture war division, climate denial machine, and fake smeer antisemitism wont work.

🧵 current thoughts on the climate and biodiversity crisis as a product of death denial.

From reading the essays of James K. Rowe and others, compiled in ‘Radical Mindfulness: Why transforming fear of death is politically vital’

4/4 So do not allow permagrowthers to tell you that ‘efficiency will decouple gdp from harm’

All you need is your logic:

As long as the goal is to exponentially increase production, it will only exponentially increase consumption.

Until there is nothing left to consume.

The commonly accepted idea that the world can just ‘become a more service economy’ to reduce its planetary destruction is founded on lies.

The rich imperial economies that have become most service based have INCREASED their consumption of the planet, not decreased.

I want to create a separate account just for ‘Eco Book Snippets’ to store them and so other people can get info easily, whilst also promoting the books.

This is an invaluable point by “Less is More - how degrowth will save the world”

Its time to for a activist group that addresses the heart of the issue while being truly non-disruptive.

A movement of ‘loud pocket protest’ against overconsumption.

Where we make communities of our abstinence efforts from plastic, meat, fish, peat, and all needless buying

And *critically*

If there is an off chance that anyone has seen the film or read the novel, i hope you appreciate that Estike and her cat are either side of you as you read one of the greatest chapters in literature;

“Part Two: Irimiás Gives a Speech”.

I paint the ‘belly’ of books that I believe changed my life.

Sátántángo trudges in thick boots through the sad irony of humanity like it does through mud and rain

A town has suffered an immense tragedy. And a feared man thought dead -Irimiás- has returned with promise of salvation.

Omg if you guys could just take this exact ideology, and apply it to consuming less beef.

short term loss and losing small luxuries (like unnecessary food sources!) is nothing compared to the long term gain. God damn, please. This is so sad

Isnt it mad that the #1 argument against plant based diets is:

“People will never do it”

Why?

“They wont”

Why? I do, a lot of people do.

“Yes but i wont”

Why?

“Dont want to”

How often do you see this “impossible + im not listening” argument about plant based?

Remember, every time you see how we always focus on methane from livestock; the reason livestock are primary (top 2 or 3) causes of the climate, biodiversity, water pollution, and (coming) humanitarian crisis is *not* because of … methane.

It is because of Land. Scream it until people hear. Land!

And I absolutely agree that our disconnection from the awareness and suffering (and beauty) around us, is central to the ecological crisis.

This yt comment section is killing it.

I personally believe, from a chat with an author once, that consciousness can be both fundamental to the universe *and* concentrated in complex information networks.

Complex biology essentially draws on that resource to weave a reality.

It is a shame she didnt touch on this. This comment agrees
