At our house, we try to avoid yucking someone else's yum. Best to stay out of trouble in the first place.

The funniest error I've found to date was in a military history title that had parenthetical cross-references to the maps. The parens were inadvertently deleted, so one cross-ref became part of the text: "See page 45 to destroy the enemy . . . "

Editor pro tip: always do a global check for "pubic" if you use "public" often. Trust me.

I work in nonprofit publishing, and many of our sales come from Amazon. 🫤 I hate the company's tactics and practices--they definitely take advantage of authors as well as publishers--but small publishers cannot compete in the market without Amazon. We are in such a bind.
