How did they fuck this up so badly? It's a marvel.

In Ireland, there are 122 landlords with 101+ tenancies. A further 130 with 50-101 tenancies. There is quite literally no need for anyone to own that much property.

Fair play Rob! What was the comment Carthy made?

Perhaps because it doesn't necessarily benefit the public at large to have this information?

This is information for experts to make recommendations on

The public have access to the weather warnings, from those experts, who can then plan accordingly
In a yellow warning? Prepare as they recommend

Again, it's not as if they aren't actively reviewing this data, reviewing the situation and can amend the warnings as necessary.

The orange colouring above is related to the risk of flooding and should not be taken as meaning the same as an "orange warning".
And 30-50mm of rain in 24hrs is a yellow

Probably because it is condensed into the weather warnings already publicised by the national weather service which does mention possible flooding for the areas with a yellow and orange warning.

Not to mention the amount of them that are landlords...

"I don't care about the social emotion growth of my sons" is just a way of saying they'll grow up to be incels.

What needs of young people can't be met simultaneously as providing them the right to vote?
It's a total strawman in my opinion.
November 13, 2025 at 10:44 AM
I think you underestimate 16 year olds. As someone who has worked with them for years, they are often more clued-in, engaged, and desperate for change.

I'm not pretending they are adults but they are more than able to make a rational decision when it comes to voting someone to represent themselves

Wouldn't it be something if young people could vote in favour of parties who support more investment in mental health services?
Why not have them directly dictate the politics that materially impact their lives in the present and future?

I didn't think your argument is comprehensive enough.

My mam's a Dub, her whole family are Dubs, are working class - never heard of coddle or mentioned coddle ever.
My Dad was born in Longford but lived in Dublin, his whole family were Dubs, bit more middle class, and they've never mentioned or made coddle in my life. It's a conspiracy

Clendennen is also caught out in the end of the clip, conflating the self-made housing crisis of Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil to be to do with immigrants.

If every immigrant left tomorrow our housing crisis would still exist.
And if no immigrants ever came here our housing crisis would be worse!

No disagreement here

Rural people are but the farmers and farming lobby carry so much weight, we don't get listened to.
At least, that's how it feels
