Kael's biggest failure was being unable to protect Senku from being killed by Tsukasa. So when a sniper threatens his mate's life, he wasn't going to fail again. He would protect him this time.
Even if it cost him his own life.

My friend recommended Dr. STONE to me when we were discussing anime, and I was like 'seriously? this looks dumb.' But he convinced me to watch the first episode and I immediately fell in love with Senku.
