I am currently here
down the lane from our home
I can hear the sea
there’s a lot of fog lying low on the land

the cows are gone from the field on the right
and sheep have replaced horses in the field on the left

one of the wind turbines is not moving, the others slowly

very wet underfoot

I’ve been telling this oak to make up its mind

it’s rooted in the garden but grown outside the fence

either way it can’t continue
this winter it gets moved

thanks Claire I founded & run IDEN - the Irish Doughnut Economics Network

it’s my side of the desk work
in truth it becomes more central every year

I’ve been doing economic literacy for 5 years
as a strategic designer I find that kinda nuts 🌰
suppose because I’m not an economist people listen

I’ll be focusing specifically on Economic Literacy

- what is our economy in service to?
- how to think like a 21st century economist
- doughnut economics for creatives, placemaking and the embedded economy
- what is degrowth & sufficiency

so if you have made a delicious chutney or hot sauce fill me in
it must contain
- green tomatoes
- hot chillies
- apples, actually these are optional
November 2, 2025 at 12:27 PM
thinking about these homegrown veg and fruit & how best to use them

it says chutney right?
but I also have homemade vinegar so it might say hot sauce either

how much energy & a decent know how ie. a recipe and how to sterilise a container

will it take…

so the battle with the composter is I need to empty the wheelbarrow which has materials for the dead hedge

dead hedge is to act as a sound muffler for the bio-digester unit which makes a hum that wrecks my head when I’m in the garden

an iconic train journey from Gorey through Wicklow hills, rivers and forests along the coast to Dublin

why would you take a car and sit frustrated when you can be enraptured by the views
& also work a bit as you go

is there evidence that the lulling motion of a train helps one think?

there is a strange beauty in the starkness of north Wicklow coastal bleakness in this greyness, grasses and muted sea
