I really like the visual of a ritual circle filling in the outline of a familiar slowly over the time it takes to cast. Wizard me, summoning Penn the fox familiar. Done in alcohol ink markers, gel pen, and fineliners.

A preview of a little needle felted figure of Hornet, the main character from Silksong. The head is recognizably finished, with a clump of black cotton next to it for making the body. Admittedly, I don't know much about this game, except that she's small enough to use a needle as a sword. And I just know my son is gonna be over the moon about it when it's done!

I already posted about Penn, but in this case he's featured as a wizard's familiar. He also has a new form, as a barn owl. My kid was asking about familiars, so I drew myself as a wizard (the headshot) as I explained it to her. Then, because I wasn't done with the dope wizard outfit, I drew an action shot. Wizard Cas, Owl Penn, and Fox Penn are colored with a multi-colored pencil, and the action shot is colored with the multi-colored pencil and gel pens, and all finished with fineliners. (There's also some space on the page dedicated to brainstorming pink eraser stamp designs, one of which is filled with a sketch of my tiefling druid, Topo)

Got sick of working on this painting lying flat on the table, so I pulled some scrap wood out of the shed and made myself an easel! It's not perfect, and my arms are so sore, but I got it done 😎

This continent is called Andula. Or, depending on who you ask, the continent is the physical embodiment of the goddess Andula. Regional religion is still an area of study and still being compiled as a continent-wide encyclopedia. Drawn with fineliners on handmade paper, painted with watercolor brush pens, and given a distressed look with a brown ink pad. I have been giving this project a lot of loving attention, and I hope to write enough life within these shores to create a story worth telling to more people than just myself.

Penn is a fox, but small glowing spots along his spine, across his legs, and on the back of his ears indicate he's no ordinary fox. Sometimes when I'm doing my grocery shopping, I imagine the spots flashing a little brighter in time with whatever music I'm listening to. Drawn with alcohol ink markers and fineliners.

First two days of inktober, a frog wizard and a kid making a lil basket. These two are just done with pencil and fineliners. I thought of a shrine quest in Breath of the Wild where you have to get a "crown" of bone to a certain spot, and the solution is to ride a stag there because of its antlers. Then this turned into some kind of lore-building drawing, like those old legends that seem impossible and fantastical at the same time. This stag carries the sun in his antlers to make sure villages get the light they need for a good harvest. Gel pens and fineliners. I carved a bunch of stamps yesterday! I'm sad I used up all the erasers I had, but I'm glad of the break it'll force me to have since I'm really sore from my bad art posture 😅 Stamps (all handmade) and ink pad I hardly ever do fanart, but this is for A Fate Inked in Blood. I burned through that book in like a day and a half and I'm impatiently waiting to read the next one (curses to the library waiting list...) Pencil, alcohol ink, and fineliners

Topo learned two things upon reaching level 4: how to wildshape into a rat, and how to read lips. Now imagining a rat watching someone with the intensity of reading their lips seems a little unsettling

Lil sketchy drawings of Eva and Arthur as kids, because I realized I hadn't drawn them young! I also wanted to experiment with a regional clothing style, because these two grew up in the same area (explanation in Eva's alt)

As a kid, Eva loved making glittery rainbows with her magic ✨ The region she came from is a farming one, and even though Eva's family is more wealthy, they still follow the traditions of those who work the fields. People will sew patches on elbows and knees to reinforce them for long working days, and it is considered good luck to have flowers embroidered on the patches. Communities will often make an event of getting together and passing clothes around to embroider flowers. Arthur didn't start growing horns until after he was 19, and was a fairly average looking child. He loved helping his family work their fields, and his parents relied on his keen eye to move any stray animals out of the way of their farm equipment.
