could not see past the notion of not every animated project begin as big right out the gate as Boss Baby...

So yeah I guess this was just a big excuse to rant about that last bit huh.

And he got rejected on 20+ PITCHES right as he wrapped up on Kid Cosmic just because it wasn't doing the same numbers as the Boss Baby show they adquired from Dreamworks and could lose at any time.

They said no to the guy who made the Powerpuff Girls twenty plus times because the corpo tools-

it is also another sign of Netflix investing less in animation besides buying anime licenses.

I think the breaking point was what they did to Craig McCracken. Sure Kid Cosmic got a good run and the guy did everything that he wanted, but oops! Netflix forgot to hit the "Good Marketing"-

-Jentry Chau is still in renewal limbo
-Long Story Short barely made a dent despite sharing a creator and production company with the sad horse show
-LD+R had it's worst performance numbers wise on S4
-Big Mouth ended which should be a good thing... AND it is. But-

but Kpop fans moved the needle a bit too much and now KPDH Is the biggest movie of the year which wrongfully proved Netflix that they can keep releasing movies this way oh and also shows, don't forget about those!
December 10, 2025 at 5:23 AM
in between. Like the other movies released this year under that mentality quickly sank to the bottom in terms of numbers. (Lost In Starlight, Fixed, Twits through that one is prolly for a good reason) Not even Witcher and Wallace and Gromit managed to move the needle with their movies-

KPDH I'd say it did more harm than good. At least regarding to the platform it was on (Netflix). It was marketed and released the same dogwater way they do for almost every animated movie. That whole pump and dump where you release a trailer a month before release and nothing else-

*summer break, I think?
December 9, 2025 at 2:20 PM
???: Really? I did that one while on a summer break?
December 9, 2025 at 2:20 PM
(Daniel and I take a look at Another drawing, of Riviere begin surrounded by Courage and Trois on each side, with the two seemingly fighting for her attention)
December 9, 2025 at 2:09 PM
???: That drawing of Riviere wearing her Mermaid Idol Fit?
December 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM
???: You're looking at them all around already. But peek closer.
December 9, 2025 at 1:57 PM
???: Really, you think so? Most others say my art looks like computer paint program crap.
December 9, 2025 at 1:55 PM
Okay. Let's get going!

(Us three later arrive at the Merman's stand. Full of Riviere and Trois art.)
December 9, 2025 at 1:49 PM
Do you want to partake, Dani?
December 9, 2025 at 1:45 PM
Oh I'm down for it todo! I could write stuff!
December 9, 2025 at 1:40 PM
And I majorly write myself in terms of what I like to do.
???: Would you... Like to do something together? Us three?
December 9, 2025 at 1:36 PM
???: Oh wait I forgot to ask beforehand, do you write or draw?
December 9, 2025 at 1:33 PM
???: Hey, can I ser your art?
December 9, 2025 at 1:27 PM
???: Understandable, sometimes you drain yourself like that.
December 9, 2025 at 1:25 PM
Think their last original show was Mucha Lucha and then completely shifted into making DC, Looney Tunes and HB stuff with some other things like an Urkel animated movie that was supposedly canned in that whole "HBO Max removed everything" period but got thrown on Digital like two years after.
