also the story's, like, really good. i want to help all of these unique people in this weird messed up space ring. surely, there will be no suspiciously shipmind-shaped hurdles in achieving this goal

having all your rolls happen at the start of the day also takes focus away from the randomness and reorients it towards the impact of where you're going to apply them. it's neat stuff!
