I went out into my heavily Latino neighborhood for some daily errands and it’s like a fucking ghost town bc of ICE being rumored to be around. Truly incredible that at the most base level, these policies just make everyone’s life miserable and full of friction.

I've read loads of books that I find more technically impressive, more challenging, or more entertaining but I the book that has never left me is Grapes of Wrath. Profound in its simplicity and compassion, but also wide spanning and gigantic. A text that feels more urgent today than ever.

I've read loads of books that I find more technically impressive, more challenging, or more entertaining but I the book that has never left me is Grapes of Wrath. Profound in its simplicity and compassion, but also wide spanning and gigantic. A text that feels more urgent today than ever.
