its like there is a shadow of a good idea somewhere in the distance behind this one

I would love regulations around privacy and algo transparency.

Definitely throw a party!! What larp will it be?

When we Play together, we can physically sense this vital energy being exchanged. I put something out there, you respond to it, someone else adds something. We're in our bodies. It feels good!

Combat, roleplay, ritual.. improv - these are mediums where energy is upgraded and exchanged.

This isn't limited to larp - mutual aid, potluck dinners, and conversations where you feel Seen have been the bread & butter of church communities. It's part of why they've been so powerful.

In a world where "third spaces" are vanishing, we need non-work non-home spaces to do Human Things together.

In an ideal larp community, the energy circuits function like a metabolism, transporting elements to where they are most needed.

PC Conclusion: magical experiments deep underneath the capitol tried to reanimate titanic biomatter. But they accidentally created a specialized titanic fungus which spread like wildfire.. within 50 years, the kingdom was empty - everyone had either fled or become fungal zombies.

Everything is covered with chitin caps - tiny stonelike mushrooms with a sweet odor. Underneath the capital, the players found tunnels with 'KEEP OUT' spraypaint and caution tape. Past that, there were hostile fungal growths with little trousers and loafers sticking out the bottom. Infected Corpses.

Given: "The kingdom of Fallen Umber got rich mining titanic biomatter"

Question to the PCs: "What's titanic biomatter?"

Answer they gave me: "The region is littered with the corpses of enormous ancient beings. Cities were biomagically grown from their bodies."

Bingo, now every city is a body.

The gang is doing some freelance research for some lazy archaeologists. They are exploring the region to make a good guess about "what happened here".

The UVG hardcover gives you a few juicy particles, but the players at the table have to string them together to make the story.

ehh I just don't think it was effective. I agree that Tarantino thinks his audience is idiots, & he loves cooking them junk food out of fancy ingredients while he winks at his filmmaker peers. I don't read this movie as discomfort with torture porn at all.

"Wouldn't it be FUN to torture and brutally murder people that you think deserve it?"

I cannot express how much I dislike this movie.

It's like "the crowd at the ball game" By William Carlos Williams but without its last line.

TotSK is a "tutorial" dungeon for the OSR/Oldschool dungeon style: coinsandscrolls.blogspot.com/.../osr-tomb....

-Exploration: mapping, secret passages, shortcuts and loops
-Deadly traps, but finding/disarming them never involves dice, just problem solving
-Monsters can be bypassed in creative ways

Moosemas is a Discordian Holiday from the 80s that was resurrected in the 2000s:

It's about drinking mimoosas, standing under the moosletoe, singing moosemas carols, and hoping we are visited by Jolly Old St. Nicklemoose.
