I'll do my best.

Okay... you're walking through the desert and you see a tortoise. You stop to flip it over on its back and now it's squirming helplessly, its belly baking in the sun. But you don't help it. Why, Stephen? Why aren't you helping it?

They're gonna put your picture on their wall, aren't they? "Do NOT open display case for this individual" or something like that.

I think her razor-sharp 'tude compensated plenty for the middlebrow cardigan. Didn't really see her as low status, seeing how she more or less eye-rolled everyone at that table. Bummer you didn't care for it... I still chuckle at some of its silliness.

Hey there... I work at the library there; I run the writing workshop and the mystery book club. I pitched this to them and we're gonna give it a go. Just an informal club; we all read the same book and just talk it out. I picked this first one, but we'll vote on the next. Hope to see you.

Why? It's one more way to engage with the community. Sometimes people get lucky and find an honor book copy of a book that's checked out; they just moved here and don't have proof of a local address, yet; or the host of other reasons why someone does not or cannot get an address.

They're usually from donations, paperbacks that circulate well but have a bit of shelf wear to them. Instead of going through the tedium of cataloguing them (we usually other copies catalogued already), we just tag them and put them on an 'honor book' rack. No library card required.

Thanks for this... Richard Matheson is an under appreciated legend.

"...In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people."

For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us..

For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world...

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury...
