Nov. 18, 2025: House will vote today to require the AG to release the Justice Dept’s files on Jeffrey Epstein & Ghislaine Maxwell. Following a successful effort by bill authors Massie & Khanna to get 218 mbrs to sign their discharge petition to force a fllor vote, GOP leaders scheduled a vote today.

51-47: Senate votes to end the national emergency declared by President Trump on April 2 to impose global tariffs. Republicans Collins, McConnell, Murkowski and Paul. Senators earlier this week voted to repeal Trump's tariffs on Brazil 52-48 and Canada 50-46.

It's Government Shutdown Day 28. House will return briefly today at 1pm for another brief session. House GOP leaders have cancelled votes for a 5th consecutive week, awaiting Senate approval of their CR, but will give lawmakers 48hrs to return if votes are scheduled. @cspan

Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) yielded after holding the Senate floor for a marathon 22 hr & 37 minutes. It was the 3rd longest floor speech in Senate history. He surpassed fellow Oregonian Sen. Merkley (D-OR) briefly suspended his marathon Senate floor remarks, which began at 6:23pm ET Tuesday, for a prayer at Noon today required under the rules when the Senate has been in continuous session. It’s Gov’t Shutdown Day 21. Senate GOP will meet for lunch with President Trump in the WH Rose Garden, the day after most Senate Democrats voted against advancing the House-passed GOP short-term funding bill for an 11th time. Dems continue to call for extending expiring ACA tax credits.

It's Gov’t Shutdown Day 20. Only the Senate's back in session today & will vote at 5:30pm for the 11TH time on whether to advance House-passed GOP short-term funding bill. And with 60 votes needed, it's expected to fail again w/only Republicans & the same few Dems & King-I planning to support it.

Government shutdown continues & the House has not held votes for now 1 month since Sept. 19, but members are still introducing bills to help federal agencies & departments impacted by the lapse in funding, while restricting funds to others, per Friday's Congressional Record.

On Day 17 of the gov’t shutdown,House announced Oct 20-26 will now be a district work period for members, meaning no votes will be held for a 5TH consecutive week. Last votes were 9/19. Rep.
