I think that we've become used to WotC doing this in the art. The one that drives me nuts for this is Bane from BfBG. He's usually depicted in black plate armour with his symbol in green, the card art was a half dressed himbo with white hair wearing blue, because Esper.

When I build a new deck I give it a month to see if I enjoy it, otherwise I'll find a different commander and rebuild.

From what I understand a lot of it was him following the mandate from higher-ups, not him deciding "let's wank off the UMs"

The big problem was the binary choice. Eurosceptic Dave wanted to break from Brussels but keep strong trade agreements whereas Gammon Frank wanted a No Deal. Both voted for the same option, not knowing what they'd get.

I've never really enjoyed painting, so anything that helps me actually do it is a quick adopt. That thinking, plus learning about techniques like slapchop meant last year I painted more minis that I had in the 30 years since I started playing Warhammer.

I use what a friend called "the 3 feet rule". Does the min look okay from about 3 feet away, since that usually how far you are from the tabletop. Completely stopped stressing about tiny mistake in parts of the mini you can't see without picking it up and looking "up the kilt", as it were.
