2) As I tried to say in the story, WFP is using this outrage to do some broader movement-building, recruiting volunteers and down-ballot hopefuls for the races between now and then while also laying groundwork for a '28 challenge. So it's not either/or for them I don't think.

1) w/r/t Manchin there are numerous policy differences (Fetterman didn't hamstrung Dems when they had the majority like Manchin did). But I think politically the difference is the feeling of betrayal: Fetterman spent years building a brand as a progressive warrior, and people bought into it, hard.
