This means this is the first documentation of volcanic lightning with Hayli Gubbi #volcano.

When insurance wants to avoid covering something, you know it’s a problem.

Note the Enveloped Eyewall Lightning Signature. In regions without reconnaissance data, this can be an additional indicator of a storm with wind speeds of at least 130 mph.

In another universe where there were no changes to conferences after 2000, this could be the CFP field.

Nice weather today, but enjoy it while it lasts.

Change cometh quick.

Cold front moves through Tuesday ➡️ Wednesday and brings the chill.

And with it, comes a Winter Storm Watch for northern Wisconsin. Up to a foot of snow possible in Iron and Ashland Counties.

I’m afraid that the Lions missed their best chance of playing in the Super Bowl when they blew the second half lead against San Francisco in the NFC Championship Game.

The interesting thing about posting a job announcement on LinkedIn is how many people then try to connect with you.

My guy/gal, I rarely even connect with people I currently work with. You think I’m going to connect with someone I’ve never spoken to?

I’ve seen at least 4 ring-necked pheasants in the last couple days, and I gotta tell you…even though they’re not native to the U.S., they’re a really beautiful bird.

I don’t see how anyone looks to the US Government right now and says, “Oh yes, they are a group I can count on.”

Turning on the Red Wings so goaltending can increase my blood pressure instead of bad Oklahoma quarterback play.

OU does not have a playoff offense. It is lead by a not-a-playoff-quality quarterback.
Some of you ask how a potential CFB playoff team could also be a Sickos Team.

Well Oklahoma has 6 plays for -7 Yards after the first quarter.

The Climate Prediction Center has Wisconsin highlighted for below normal temperatures and above normal precipitation in the 6-10 and 8-14 day outlooks, which cover the November 27 - December 5 period.

This would mean a chilly Thanksgiving and the possibility of snow forecasts.

Apparently, on campus, chocolate muffins are called chocolate chip muffins and there are no actual chocolate chip muffins.
I’m sorry, but this isn’t a chocolate chip muffin.

It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick.

Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

Study after study shows that using LLMs is bad for cognition, bad for learning, bad for understanding, bad for mental health. So why are our schools and universities still relentlessly pushing them?

Today is your last chance to vote in the @nwas.org election!

If you’re a member and you haven’t voted yet, make sure you do it today!
The voting has opened for @nwas.org elections - vote now through November 21!

I'm excited to say I'm a candidate for the Board of Directors - hopefully I get more than my vote, but it'll be tough since I'm running against the incomparable Kim Klockow McClain!
