Thanks. Again, interesting to learn this. The recording thing certainly wasn't an issue when I was going through 40(!) years ago, but I wonder if they actually had an official auditing status for enrolled students back then...

It does look bad. And the class size would absolutely make a difference. I never would have dreamed of just sitting in on a small class though. I think I might contact the professor of the Religion class I audited and see if he has coursework still. "American Saints" was a brilliant course...
