Biodiversity-wise, unglaciated Ohio is super rich for reasons of historical biogeography and topographic heterogeneity. Don’t know about your guys though.

I hear you. I tend to like strongly flavored foods, so I am now enranged by a diagnosis of GERD (and being enranged does not help stomach acids...). So I will try to turn this into a challenge: making strongly flavored foods that are healthy, not picante, not acidic, not minty, etc...

I managed several bites, which is more than I can say for surströmming, which you can tell is ready when the tin can bulges. In Sweden they say you only open it on the coast when the wind is blowing out to sea. I have broad tastes but I could only manage half a forkful

It’s a highly sophisticated device. A clear plastic cup, some push pins, a dead tree, cheap wine. Pin cup to tree. Fill half full with wine, wait a couple of days.
