As long as Trump threatens to make Canada the 51st state, it’s none of his business if we and our allies build military bases along our border to protect us. What are we supposed to do? Wait for the USA to invade us first? Like Russia did with Ukraine? Look how well that is working out for Ukraine.

I have never, ever, seen such a powerful person standing so alone and isolated in a room full of people with nobody trying to engage with him, or even get close, or be seen to be close to him.

I have been in many rooms filled with powerful and influential people. In informal moments, everyone gravitates towards those who hold the most power or influence, or their own in-groups. To see so many people in a room with the POTUS, and not a single one trying to get close to him tells a story.

I am outraged (as I am just about every day) that Trump’s post is not the front page story of every newspaper and the lead of every news broadcast, pointing out how clearly unfit he is to lead his own marching band, let alone a nation, and questioning his sanity.

Yes, but also, many of our ‘democracies’ need a complete overhaul in its structure and format to optimize minority governance and the participation of independent candidates.

Having read the article, I felt like they were trying to hint that the numbers released by the MAGA-regime can’t be trusted. The word ‘inflated’ was used more than once.

They should, but I have no confidence that they will. We’ve been living with destructive social media for more than two decades now, and lawmakers are still unable to hold them accountable. Why would AI be different?

I live in Waterloo, and we have a Little Library of Things, where you can borrow things, like food processors. If it does come down to making your own hummus, maybe there is something similar in Winnipeg?

Formula is one of the things that makes it possible for women who live in a country with no serious mandatory maternity leave to keep their jobs. Without it, many women will be forced to leave the workforce. Stay home, raise children, serve the husband. All part of the MAGA plan.

That our healthcare does not include pharma is beyond ridiculous. Go to the doctor, get told what is wrong with you and what you need to make it better/cope with it? Paid. Getting the medicine or treatment, unless it is in a hospital? Meh, you’re on your own, buddie! Make it make sense.

That’s a part of it, but the loneliness is not just that they can’t get women to like them. They’re lonely because they also don’t know how to form real friendships/relationships with other men! They’re lonely because they just don’t have friends, male or female. They don’t know how to be a friend.

I’ve seen stories of, especially older people, selling their property that have dramatically increased in value, but then, even though they are downsizing, finding it difficult to get good housing for what they can now pay.

And yet, what’s the point? It looks good on a balance sheet, but if and when you sell that house, you still have to find new accommodation, and you’ll have to pay for it at the current market rate, not at the 20+ year ago rate.

Well, I won the NHL prize for physics, which, well deserved as I’m sure it is, honestly came as a bit of a surprise, given that I passed high school physics by the skin of my teeth!
