Managed to pick up some new books recently! Really looking forward to diving into them.
I've never actually actually read much Danielewski but I got tempted into picking up Tom's Crossing on a whim. (Pynchon of course is an old favourite).

I don't run creatures that big but the ultimate 8/8 for me has to be the Gaak. I have a friend who runs him in edh as an absolute menace.

I managed to get my hands on this! I'm very excited to read it, one of the few Thomas Ligotti books I haven't read yet.

Easily my favourite thread so far is the story of Alexander, the first documented magician of the Western tradition, in his journey from teenage prostitute to cross dressing con artist to elderly cult leader.

Currently working my way through Alan and Steve Moore's Moon and Serpent Bumper Book of Magic.
It's an absolutely beautiful book and I'm enjoying it a lot even if I find myself unconvinced by this kind of syncretic esotericism.

I went to see The Devil Rides Out in the cinema last night. It's far from my favourite of Hammer's output but it is a really fun occult adventure movie with a great performance from Christopher Lee as a heroic character (always a treat).
I love that my local cinema puts things like this on.

I decided that I haven't read enough manga so I'm getting into Dai Dark. Dorohedoro was great and from what I've seen of Dai Dark it looks absolutely sick.

RIP Roger Corman. His adaptation of the Masque of the Red Death is one of the best and most beautiful horror films ever made.

I'm getting the urge to rewatch Tarsem's Immortals for the first time since seeing it in the cinema. It's bit a movie I've seen anyone talk about in a decade but I remember enjoying it, taking myself to see it for my 20th birthday.

The Criterion cover for Querelle is insane. I'm kind of impressed that they did something this shocking.

I just found out that Alan Moore and Steve Moore's Moon and Serpent Bumper Book of Magic finally has an actual release date of October this year. I'm incredibly excited for this as I've been wanting to read this for well over a decade at this point.

It struck me recently that the aesthetics of Fallout kind of got flattened after Bethesda rebooted the series. It became just 50s Sc-Fi meets Mad Max wasteland but the original games were richer than that.
I miss the ominous giant faces that buildings had in Fallout 2.
