To be clear, it's not that I don't think it would have positive effect, but limited UBI will not overthrow capitalism. Trying to use UBI as a means to fully replace work and win socialism would eventually provoke a backlash from capital. We need to beat capital first.

I get that there a bunch of people on the left who are fans of UBI, apparently you are one of them, but I'm sticking with the position that it's not what will get us to socialism.

Also, you're making some big assumptions about people's motives and priorities.

You didn't have to. You are saying the same exact things people are saying about Arab American voters in Michigan. It's the same picture.

I have three thoughts on this.

1) It's pretty messed up to gloat at anyone being arrested by ICE.

2) It's counterproductive. You do want them to vote for Democrats in the future, right?

3) No, Muslims didn't betray the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party took them for granted. FAFO.
