Anyway, we'll see how it goes. I've already got about six tracks in various states of rough draft recorded, and it's so far been weirdly... cathartic? Having this sort of time capsular collaboration with myself from across 25ish years. Cheaper than therapy, I guess. 🖤💜🖤

Influences I'm drawing on so far include Leonard Cohen's Songs of Love and Hate, Current 93's All the Pretty Little Horses, Bob Dylan's Time Out of Mind, and Scott Walker's The Drift, with some Willie Dunn, some Gordon Lightfoot, probably Microphones among others, so... yeah, pretty wordy and epic.

It's going to be a very strumming singer songwriter affair with noisy sonic textures, the occasional chord change or two (maybe more!), and ballads for days. I'm reworking and rewriting a bunch of old songs, some from my twenties, some from my teens! It feels ambitious, and very likely too long. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The phone ban has always been a major attraction of Alamo, and making the theater experience difficult for those opting to move away from smart phone dependence cuts into a portion of the very audience that still wants to go to the movies.

I just realized how epically hung over that probably reads as being. Which is funny, since I actually spent most of my evening tinkering around in the kitchen, trying to brew a non-alcoholic whiskey substitute. I failed, but it's at least a tasty failure, and I got ideas for the next attempt.
