Didn't he say we were the only ones still going on about their 51st state? Sounds like he can't stop talking about it.

I get it. Left a reply before seeing this but have a lot of respect for you and understand the frustration.
November 27, 2025 at 4:15 PM
At the end of the day, U.S. annexation would hurt both Canadians & Indigenous People living in Canada.

(Btw I typed 3 different replies & my phone refreshed, erasing each so please don't think my delay was rudeness. Just frustrating tech. Much respect for your comments.)

Indigenous communities co-manage our N'tl Parks & cultural sites, Indigenous land guardians are training our military, one of my fav recently funded projects is a women-owned pre-fab housing company.

Not perfect, but putting our money where our mouth is & ppl fighting to make our gov accountable.
November 27, 2025 at 4:13 PM
Look, we're not perfect & don't claim to be. We accept the criticism, but we're trying to navigate this uncharted situation to make things better. not just utter empty words.

Canada doesn't claim ownership over everything; it has invested in Indigenous projects, businesses & partnerships. Eg:

Understandable. I'm sorry I assumed you were acting in bad faith.

That pipeline has a lot of us pissed!

I also get angry when I feel Indigenous people are being used (you weren't but others have) or when it feels like ppl from another country are being dismissive of a real geopolitical concern.
November 27, 2025 at 4:13 PM
Part of my family is Kanien’kehá:ka, so I was taught early on to approach Indigenous issues with sincerity, not as debate material.
November 27, 2025 at 2:46 PM
(far more than the U.S.) your comment shows youre unaware of changes there. But I dont feel you're here to have a serious convo.

Regardless, using Indigenous Peoples as a rhetorical point to shut down Canadians who are pushing back against annexation rhetoric doesn’t sit right with me.

returns, rights & inclusion.

That’s a completely different context from an American politician casually talking about absorbing another sovereign country as if it’s flattering.

If you want to talk about colonialism sincerely, we can have that convo. I could list the work that's been done /2
November 27, 2025 at 2:46 PM
Honestly, I find it frustrating when ppl bring up Indigenous issues only as a “gotcha.”

Many of us in Canada take issues on colonialism & reconciliation seriously. We don’t pretend the history is clean or resolved, & we’ve been working, imperfectly, but openly, with Indigenous Peoples on land... /1
November 27, 2025 at 2:46 PM
Have you worked with Indigenous groups in Canada?
November 27, 2025 at 2:15 PM
We discuss Indigenous issues sincerely here & don't use them as a rhetorical cudgel.

Meant to put "media" in quotations. This isn't a legit media org but they masquerade as one & have tried to get accreditation to events.
November 27, 2025 at 12:29 AM
Absolutely correct but they present themselves as media & have tried to get press accreditation to events.

Ahhhh...I saw my mistype after...I didnt clarify in my original post that it was a faux media account. Thanks for pointing it out. So wish there was an edit option!

By that logic, its God's fault (if it exists) for making Donald president and telling him to send them there 🙄 match that energy

Only the worthy.

I shared one link (the wrong one to be fair) after looking at several from various sources.

But I am skilled in media literacy, so kindly take your condescension & screenshot of this person's "analysis" elsewhere.
November 26, 2025 at 3:06 PM
True. Carney was still the better choice but I'm damn disappointed in many of his decisions.

I'm also frustrated people are getting their backs up to any criticism about him. For me, truth & facts are important which is why I made my comment, but politicians are not above criticism. It's healthy.
November 26, 2025 at 3:01 PM
But worth complain at people for sharing articles to explain themselves who didn't have the time in the moment to write out long explanations themselves.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to my basement to repair my drywall & insulate my rim joists. I'll remind myself how men are looking out for me.

-Sexual health/reproduction
-Gender based violence

So that's all the coverage they think women need? Cool 😒

Canada no longer has a feminist foreign policy, but still wants to uphold "values". That's not the same thing & it's not clickbait to worry. Sorry you don't think its worth writing about...
November 26, 2025 at 2:56 PM
That last past is someone's personal opinion & incorrect. Without clearly written directive, it means nothing.

Do I need to really need to write out what happens when a bunch of men in charge go "oh it's common sense so we'll apply it".
😒
What I've read they're also only looking at:
November 26, 2025 at 2:56 PM
Well they didn't even read it correctly so you gained no info. Here's another link if youre worried about that one, ffs

I just didnt want to have ppl bitch at whatever source I shared but it doesn't matter. Try to do something helpful...🤷‍♀️

Carney says Canada drops talk of ‘feminist foreign policy’ but upholds values - National | Globalnews.ca
Prime Minister Mark Carney says he wants Canada to uphold values on the world stage including combatting violence against women, but says it doesn't have a feminist foreign policy.
