These were the first ones I’ve seen, I think there were about 4 of them flying around the woods there.

It sure is, there was a lot of work put into that nest, by a lot of hornets. It was probably 1.5-2 feet tall! I’m glad I came across it in the winter, wouldn’t have wanted to accidentally get on the wrong side of that hive.
