Our agency provided CPR/first aid training once a year so I’m hoping that’s also the case for the one providing services for Art.

Also, I would hope new in-home workers are asking parents/guardians and primary caregivers how to best care for their loved one!
Like please no plastic bags for oral sensory seeking kids and help him when he’s choking. I thought that would be common sense? 😬

☹️ I REALLY wish agencies provided paid training and shadowing of seasoned support workers for new workers. When I did in-home care for disabled folks, they gave us no training and the pay was terrible.

I hate how this country devalues caregivers and the people they care for.
