The version of “Baby You’re A Rich Man” from Anthology 4 that has popped up is really something special.

I’m reading Cameron Crowe’s new book on a train in Wales and touched by how well he balances excellent rock stories with admiration for the true hero of the book: his Mom. Naturally, I picture her as Francis McDormand and that adds to it.

We went on an excellent literary pub crawl in Dublin tale with two actors reciting bits of Joyce, Beckett, Brendan Behan, Wilde and others. It was really excellent and there was a quiz at the end and I won first prize: this T shirt.

Wanna feel old? Walk into any shoe store and ask the teenagers working there if you can buy a shoehorn. I may as well have asked for a butter churn. One of them patiently explained Amazon to me.

I’m off to Ireland tomorrow for a week and I have a hopeful fantasy that I won’t have to hear or read the awful word Trump as much. What a curse he is to all of us.

OK, I’m taking control of the music at the #RockAndRollHallOfFame concert and what we’re going to do is actually learn the fucking songs of the artists we pay tribute to. It’s not a tribute to Sly Stone to not play the song properly. Looking at you, Flea.

My first weekend without any gigs since May and I spent two hours playing bass along with dub reggae tracks, naturally. #high

Some us remember the 5th of November, naturally, but don’t feel the need to mention it as a flimsy excuse to shoehorn in how amazing the Plastic Ono Band album is. Not me, mind you, but I bet they are out there.

After focused and intensive research, I am going to need a word with #MickJagger about “Between The Buttons”. He says that the ping ponging and bouncing down of tracks resulted in rubbish and I’m here to say that album sounds fucking incredible. Get Mick on the blower for me, somebody. Thx.

I am quite looking forward to playing my original compositions with talented pals at the Burren in Davis Square tomorrow at 2PM. As luck would have it, the show is open to the public. How great is that? #BostonRock

Weird response, but something about Ace Frehley passing makes me really want my old Ibanez Destroyer and my Marshall combo that I traded to the local music store long, long ago. You can’t really wail on “Rocket Ride” on a Rickenbacker or Jazzmaster.

I released a new EP today because I am a songwriter and driven to do so. It would be so nice if you were to give it a listen on Apple Music or Spotify and, even better, @bandcamp.com corinashley.bandcamp.com/album/ep-1

One of the bits of sartorial wisdom I have earned over the course of my time on earth (middle 2 of 3, I imagine) is…. drum roll… Never buy Chelsea boots on eBay or Poshmark when plastered, wrinkled or otherwise paralytic. Shnockered is OK, but off yer tits is Ill-advised at best.

Between Neko Case and Jeff Tweedy, there’s a whole bunch of excellent tunes suddenly floating around in the air.

I’m trying a radical new social media strategy of not commenting on things I don’t know very much about. It pairs nicely with never reading the comments on any news story. Ever. This allows me to retain a naive faith in humanity.

Great victory! Son has several friends over and I made then watch clip of The Who doing “Won’t Get Fooled Again” from The Kids Are Alright and told them about the times I met John Entwistle. They agreed that the scream after the laser part was pretty cool.

The groom at my wedding tonight asked if I could play a Richard Thompson song during the cocktail hour. One must treasure these moments. Also, all the Richard Thompson songs I know are Mary Lou Lord’s versions and God bless her for that.
