This one was set up by one of my coworkers for his birthday. He did one last year and has decided to make it an annual event. There was a penalty lap which I didn’t realize was a thing until that night but there were quite a few runners that went five laps.

Egg nog mile?!? That’s incredible despite the inevitable.

The one from college was always the night after our conference meet which coincided with the night before graduation. Our rule was you were DQ’d if you chundered. We also had a rule that graduates had to drink Guinness (unless going NA).

Constituent here as well. Feels like they’ve been transparent enough to recognize that reform isn’t going to work. I’d appreciate if you started talking more about dismantling and abolishing ICE as opposed to procedural reform.

I wonder how C&D Scrap Metal would respond.

Bandera wasn’t the fastest 100k that I’m capable of but I did hit my A goal of getting back into the Western lottery. And now a year later I don’t feel like I’ve lost that step and can thankfully keep doing these things. Not sure of your goal for Cocodona but glad things are progressing for you.

When I was returning from injury and training for Bandera those lost a step feelings helped me shift focus from pace and what I used to do towards what I would call time on feet training (along with strength training). It meant many of my runs turned into run/walk sessions instead.

I’ve been listening to a lot of Cloud Cult lately. I was lucky enough to see the linked show live… even without the backing of a full orchestra they’re an amazing inspirational band.

Not sure if it was intentional but love that she’s playing white in the second shot.

She’s in the lead role now.

Fully expected this to say something along the lines of “going to eat a lot of peaches.”

As a teacher it has never gotten old when a student stops and takes that briefest moment to think when I say “See you next year.” There’s that realization and just crush that it’s not summer break.

But for the actual summer break, I make sure to mutter “up yours Krabappel” at the opening bell.

And as a frequent golfer in the late 80s early 90s at Bear Creek.

And as a birder who has watched the Katy prairie and a significant part of the watershed get paved over by master community after master community.

(Time to play Talking Heads’ Nothing But Flowers at a loud volume.)

I’m still in absolute wow just wow at this.

“When the government chooses not to condemn land… the government bears the risk.”

So the people who developed in the flood plain don’t bear the risk.

I read this as someone who lives downstream and was just four inches away from flooding during Harvey.

Upstream homeowners. Wow. I’m reading the ruling and I have lots of thoughts. But…

Was the argument that the government should have purchased all that land (to pool height) way back when?

Wow. I’m just imagining sub 20 5k pace /at 10%!/. Looks like you’ve got a great week ahead of you.

Really stoked for you and the whole process leading up to Cocodona. Thanks for sharing - I’m excited to follow along.
