I was apaled some years back to see a TV interview with a woman in Cambridge where she was decrying the fact her tax money was not all spent in Cambridge. She had absolutely no consideration for National social priorities. It was ALL about what she got.

Unlikely. He's 'fortunate' that nature will probably intervene before folks get the opportunity. His accolytes though are relying on his legacy to protect them, thats far from certain.

Thing is under PR its totally right and proper that we have a few wildcard parties. You'd expect that. Its what its designed to do, to make sure every voice is heard. The important thing is they cant take control from that minority position. I have no problem with one or two reform List MSP.

Sputnik were very active in Edinburgh 10 years ago too. Nobody thought much of it at the time, down by the Scottish Office if im not mistaken.
November 28, 2025 at 10:30 AM
You mean the discussion about placing your List vote with a party other than the SNP because of the way the PR balances?

I hardly think #2 for an SNP vote would go Brexit party....
November 28, 2025 at 10:28 AM
Yes... you risk scarce valuable assets on glory trophies when they can deliver solid results at much lower risk.
November 28, 2025 at 12:31 AM
You'd have them dedicate resources to trying to pin down one man who's hiding in hardened nuclear shelters defended by air defense in depth, and entire regiments.... rather than identify static military targets with clear immediate value, that can be easily hit without risk of compromising assets.
November 28, 2025 at 12:22 AM
Its too high risk, too much investment in a target that would be hard to hit. Those spies would be better employed finding strategic bomber aircraft on the concrete. Finding munitions routes. Placing charges on N Korean rail routes. Finding missile production factories.

Realistically Ukraine are unlikely to target Putin himself. Eventually the Russians will deal with Putin up close and personal. There is no point tying to find a needle in the haystack when you have a military war complex to disassemble. A factory is a static large target, assured result.
November 28, 2025 at 12:08 AM
No, not really. Ukraine has other hone grown options these days with bigger payload and longer range. The only thing tomahawk has is better accuracy at long range.
November 28, 2025 at 12:01 AM
I dont think the Tomahawks are relevant these days. The bigger issue is artillery shells and rockets. The US keep threatening supplies which are vital.
November 27, 2025 at 11:58 PM
There may also be restrictions from the US on whether they are allowed to hit them because of the Deep Space network. I'd lay odds the US are still using Russian relay services for the deep space comms network.
November 27, 2025 at 11:30 PM
Yeah there was a big one in Crimea. They probably have several more but they will be widely spaced an potentially remote.
November 27, 2025 at 11:28 PM
Now the satellite base stations... thats a different story.
November 27, 2025 at 11:21 PM
The threat to Greenland coincided with Denmark giving extensive military equipment to Ukraine, whilst the US played silly buggers with the ammunition supplies. It was clearly aimed at forcing Denmark to stop supplying Ukraine.
November 27, 2025 at 11:20 PM
No single country could be expected to hold off Russia, thats why NATO was formed. Nobody expected the US to betray its allies.
November 27, 2025 at 11:15 PM
I think you could argue it is, but the question is its value. Their military satellites will already be up. Unless there are new ones scheduled, its of minimal value compared to targets that are actively supporting the war effort. Its high profile... that's all really.
November 27, 2025 at 11:13 PM
How does that compare to England, Scotland and NI though. Without context that statement is hardly informative of their relative performance.
November 27, 2025 at 6:39 PM
PR could resolve the issue of minority vote share govt. It could block Reform... but they won't. Labour are all about self agrandisment. They dont actually want to empower voters.
November 27, 2025 at 10:06 AM
What did you expect? Labour had a vote at Conference where the MAJORITY of its OWN MEMBERS voted in favour of Westminster reform and PR. They then blocked the vote with a major Union, who subsequently changed their mind after the Conference, and refuse to consider PR at all.
November 27, 2025 at 10:04 AM
So what you mean is, Farmers are now better off under Labour than they were under the previous Tory govt.
November 27, 2025 at 10:01 AM
Realistically, any time a western affiliated country sees live action you'd expect their affiliates to try to learn from military experiences. Its how we keep our lads up to the mark without actually being involved. Veteran experience is,alas, priceless.

This post is difficult. I totally agree with you James but liking the post almost feels like approving of the Right wing self centred dickensian views of Heath.
