In France you just take your waste to the local recycling centre. Any waste, trade or domestic is accepted free of charge. The local authority pays the landfill tax.
This has reduced fly tipping dramatically.
Sadly some communes are just starting to copy us by charging.
They’ll regret it.

Sung a few songs in the bars after a few of those delicious beers, mostly supporting Dubcek.
Lovely people, so friendly, so generous.

They were on the floor in front of the counter in old wooden crates. You just helped yourself and paid.
Only language we had was a bit of German (which almost everyone could speak), so has to start every conversation explaining we were British.
Germans about as popular as the Russian occupiers.

I remember Czechoslovakia in 1972. Bought some bottled beer which was really cheap and delicious.
The bottles were scratched & they didn’t bother with a label - just silver or gold top!
Really surprised taking the bottles back - the deposit was more than the beer.

Human intelligence.
None of that AI (Artificial Idiocy) nonsense back then.

Depends on what it consists of - varies according to the reactor it comes from, and it’s a mixture.
Count it in hundreds of years though

Not really a solution at all.
That’s why new nuclear is such a huge mistake in a country where it rains, the wind blows, and the sun even shines occasionally.
Let’s not forget either where the uranium comes from. Some Australia, some S Africa, but most from the “stans”

It all goes to Sellafield.
Some is dissolved in acid and stored in leaky tanks, some goes into big holes in the ground, and the rest is dumped in the Irish Sea.

In France you can just take your rubbish to the local recycling centre with no charge, the council pays the landfill tax.
In the UK, if it’s not clearly domestic you have to pay £126 per tonne.
So, surprise, surprise, cowboys fly-tip.
Policy needs to be based on reality not fantasy.

The Welsh Development Agency (WDA), part of Welsh Government, were at it too in the late 90s.

I’m prepared to make exceptions for Farage. It’s what he would want.

Whilst it’s important to get rid of the self appointed elite, whether inherited or self appointed, chopping their heads off is messy and arbitrary.
I’m opposed to the death penalty on moral grounds but also on practical - we can make mistakes!
Taking away their power is the key.
