If you give people with no money money, they will spend it. Worst case scenario it goes on beer and fags, in which case the government gets nearly all of it back. In reality it’ll go on food and be recycled thru the local area. It really is that simple.

I mean, despite being just an awful take on the situation, it’s well working his canon of talking shite.

You skulls read the book Monsters: what do we do about great art from bad people. Not sure Alfred gets a mention.

Thank you for that article. I have been chilled to the bone by these words since I heard them. For some reason they have upset me more than the disgusting offerings of Ben-Gvir and Smotrich. Just the sheer quiet evil of them.

My three kids and, I suspect, my wife voted labour in the general election. I think one is the four might still do. Not exactly a rigorous polling method but not completely unrepresentative either. I jumped ship over Iraq, once lost those votes almost never come back.

Me too. Never felt completely comfortable in British society but I feel further from mainstream thought than ever before.

Gloucester, Bath and Bristol. And big crowds to the two London games (lots of west Walians in London). I’d be surprised if we took less than 500 anywhere. Newcastle, in this fantasy future the only long away game, I think it’ll be mental. Glous fans were blown away by us.

We don’t have a massive home support as you can see on the telly, usually average around 7-8000. But we have a great away support. We recently took 350 to Galway for a game that didn’t happen. If we were in an Anglo-Welsh league we would take at least a 1000 to…

Scarlets took 3500 fans to Gloucester in January.

After all that fuss they played it on Christmas Day Top of the Pops, presented by…. Mike Reed. It was all a big scam.

I was dubious about a celebrity version, but I think they choose really, really well. They were all likeable and some of them, Alan and Celia for two, were brilliant.
