well, I don't know who was smart and I'm not defending anybody. A lot of people weren't smart enough not to get caught, anyhow. It's just that the catalyst for it wasn't a Somali at all, which undercuts that anti-Somali narrative. I am pro-brown people and anti-Republican, so forgive any loose bias.

good for you. Good luck. That's the real work--local and emotional. There are other Guards at risk all over.

Tthe anti-vax people think spreading measles and others is a positive (beyond their core notion that mortality from these diseases improves the gene pool or some shit). The spread, and the necessary deaths, are useful for persuading the swing folks but you'll never dent Kennedy's certainty.

Somebody says novels must follow screenwriting conventions? Novels are a fresh and innovative genre and have been vigorously reinventing themselves since photography was invented. Since screenwriters adapt (attempt to) novels more often than the other way round, they're the followers.

Taking sides, but doing it with what passes for GOP subtlety. They may think this is careful politics but it's simply proof that they know what they're doing is not in the best interests of this nation (and Europe, especially). They're doing it for profit and for fun.

I think Evers is Wisconsin, and a democrat. Dewine is Onio and he has good days and bad days.

hmm, let me choose one of those two very rational options. Multiple choice is supposed to be easy, but there's something tricky here. Ah, never mind. I'm sure if there had been other options you would have enumerated them, so give me a moment and I'll commit myself.

My crime-ridden hellhole is doing quite nicely, thanks for asking.

and, in recompense, Trump just ended their union by fiat. No wonder those jamokes on the line are always so surly.

Maybe this is the number Karoline Leavitt's going on about? Just drop those socialist liberal colors and it is a triumph of conservatism.

Great bales of Euros and Yen and Pesos and stuff, stacked to the ceiling of an undisclosed location. So inspiring.

All the birds in the trees and the bugs of the land sing of improvement. The ocean waves whisper of improvement, and of admiration for our great president. The song of the wind in the few remaining Douglas Firs is a hymn to rising fortunes. My Filipina maid's inarticulate sobs tell of prosperity.

If it's hand burn from excess popularity, fine. That won't hurt the Republic much. But if he's receiving IV medications in his hand on basis regular enough to cause visible trauma and swelling, well, that's our business, and annoying smug twats on FOX with the question is a risk I'm willing to take.

We here in the Democrat-Farmer-Labor party try to be welcoming to visitors who may not fully understand our origins and policy ideas. We enjoy explaining where we fit in the vibrant kaleidoscope of Central North American politics.

I did not see anybody say he should walk. I don't think so. Soldiers tend to hope for a chance to do something. Soldiers tend to accept the risk on the assumption that what they're sent to do will count and be useful. I don't think either assumption was met in this case, and she died anyway.

The Proud Boys are no longer a viable organization because so many of the leaders now have jobs in the Trump executive branch.

Instead we get the same bullshit they provide each other.
December 13, 2025 at 4:09 PM
Of course not. If you tried odds are the President would pop off with an X post that would shift US foreign policy for a generation.

These same earnest patriots used to resist the idea of license plates and social security numbers.
December 13, 2025 at 4:06 PM
Man these citations and allowances and whatnot. Y'all have a higher order of social media bullshit than we have down here in the US.
December 13, 2025 at 4:04 PM
That's nice but you weren't the governor who volunteered these soldiers for a propaganda mission that left them standing around on a streetcorner, vulnerable to violence from deranged persons, while accomplishing nothing. THEN, then, used that same violence for political purposes--as planned.

Isn't it crazy that a scoop (and it is a scoop, thanks to MJ for continuing to do actual journalism)...a scoop can be 'This public figure got shitcanned for a wildly unprofessional thing and then this same guy, same name, got hired publicly to do important stuff and we're the only ones who noticed.'

The White House can release all the photos and files to create a true narrative.
December 13, 2025 at 3:51 PM
We have reached the rhetorical question phase of social media friction. I concede--I am lost. I will go and do the thing I'm doing somewhere else.
December 13, 2025 at 3:48 PM
Same standard as always, same convenient intellectual rationalization for racism. Iran, Cuba, maybe the the Hmong, who cut plenty of throats but (like Somalis) assimilate as everyone else did--that is, painfully but eventually, takes a generation, some good, some bad, ain't that America.
